On November 24, the first session of the Guizhou High-Quality Completion of the "14th Five-Year Plan" County Series Theme Press Conference was held at the Guizhou Provincial Press Release Hall. Liu Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and District Chief of Liuzhi Special Zone, introduced the achievements in local hydrogen energy development and clarified the development goal of establishing the hydrogen energy industry as a new growth pole and building a national hydrogen energy application demonstration base.

Building on Resource Advantages, a Solid Foundation for Hydrogen Energy Development

Liu Qiang stated that hydrogen energy, recognized as a "zero-carbon" emission clean energy source, has broad prospects for future development. With the nation vigorously promoting the diversification of the energy structure, a series of plans and policies supporting the development of the hydrogen energy industry have been introduced, creating a favorable environment for local development. As important node cities along the "Hydrogen Corridor," both Liuzhi Special Zone and Liupanshui City have a planned coking capacity of 28.1 million mt, which can produce hydrogen through coal gas, ensuring an adequate gas supply. Meanwhile, the region's significant market potential, along with favorable economic and environmental benefits, has laid a solid foundation for the development of the hydrogen energy industry.

Following the "Demonstration First, Promotion Later" Approach to Build a Trinitarian Industry Ecosystem

Liuzhi Special Zone will adhere to the principle of "demonstration first, promotion later," focusing on the entire industry chain development model of hydrogen energy "production-storage-transportation-refueling-application." It will uphold the principle of "government guidance, enterprise leadership, and market-driven advancement" to continuously expand the scale of the hydrogen energy industry and broaden demonstration application scenarios. The core goal is to build the core hub of the "Chongqing-Guizhou-Guangxi" Hydrogen Corridor along the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, creating a trinitarian hydrogen energy industry ecosystem of "low-cost hydrogen production base + diversified application scenarios + cross-regional collaborative network," promoting the hydrogen energy industry from demonstration to scaled development.

Aiming for the End of the "16th Five-Year Plan" to Create a New Growth Pole

For future development, Liuzhi Special Zone has set clear goals: by the end of the "16th Five-Year Plan," achieve new breakthroughs in hydrogen energy applications in the transportation sector, with the promotion of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles reaching a larger scale. At the same time, efforts will be made to attract and land a batch of projects, including fuel cell vehicle parts production, complete vehicle production and assembly, and supporting productive services, aiming to build the hydrogen energy industry into a new growth pole supporting Liuzhi's economic development, striving to establish a national hydrogen energy application demonstration base and inject strong momentum into regional green and low-carbon development.
